QUEEN'S HALL REDEVELOPMENT

Major project comprised of the redevelopment and reconstruction of the existing hall space and the construction of additional areas so as to incorporate the characteristics essential to a quality performance facility. The entire internal structure was demolished leaving only the landmark shell, comprising of the barrel shaped roof and the fly tower.

Sight-lines were improved due to the steeper rake of the auditorium floor. Under the raked auditorium a new formal lobby and bar area extends southward beyond the existing building envelope, within a new two-storey glazed lobby extension.

State-of-the-art theatre equipment and systems have been implemented, upon the recommendation of renowned theatre and acoustic consultants Arup Acoustics.
