UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES (UWI) DAAGA AUDITORIUM
A new teaching facility on the site of the old Daaga Hall containing a 450-seat multi-media lecture hall, a 45-seat multi-media classroom, some theatrical back-stage facilities and all necessary ancillary spaces. There are three clear building elements: the lecture hall, the classroom and the entrance loggia. Each of these was given a unique expression and later brought together to create the unique building form.
The Loggia is also a generous architectural space which creates a natural setting for spontaneous and relaxed interactions amongst students before and after lectures.
