The concept can be compared to that of a small growing village community viz, allowing for the individual interspersed with landscaped open spaces. Separate elements (academic, administrative and support services) are
organised along a circulation spine (the village street). The academic unit which dominates is organised around an atrium (the village square) and becomes the natural focus of the composition. To experience the building is to walk the street and linger in the square.
The design embodies our passive green design principles, including:
-Passive cooling of the exterior by means of water
-Natural lighting by means of sky lights and courtyards
-Natural ventilation for specific areas
